Church Planting

At Christ Church and in our wider church family Regions Beyond we want to take the command that Jesus gave us, to “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matt 28:19) seriously. One of the key ways that we see the disciples following this command throughout the New Testament is in the planting of new churches; establishing gatherings of believers that are then able to reach their communities.

As a church, we have felt a particular call to see churches planted across our region and in the regions beyond us, in both the neighbourhoods and the nations.

One of the ways that we are involved in church planting locally is by working in partnership with other local churches. The Birmingham Collective (formally known as Birmingham 2020) is a growing community of churches, working together to inspire and encourage church planting initiatives in our City.

At Christ Church, We are currently supporting church plants in Maypole (Kings Heath), Bromsgrove, and East Birmingham.

Planning your Visit

Welcome

No matter where you are from, if you have previous experience of church or not, we know it can be an intimidating thing to come to a new church for the first time. We believe that if you come to Christ Church you will find a warm welcome from people who will try their best to help you feel at home. We will explain anything that you don't understand, and will make sure you've enjoyed your time with us as much as possible. Whether you are new to Birmingham or to church, we would love to meet you.

Sunday

We meet every Sunday at South Aston United Reformed Church.
There's a car park available and also on-street parking.
Please join us at 10 am for refreshments.
Our service starts at 10:30 am and you are welcome to stay for lunch with us which we have fortnightly.

What to expect

A typical service at Christ Church lasts an hour and a half. We start with a time of singing (we call it worship) we have news from our churches around the world and a relevant message based on the Bible. We focus on Jesus and teach messages that can be put into practice right away. There is an opportunity to be prayed for and we regularly have communion.

For babies and toddlers, we have a  staffed creche fornightly and on other weeks a  space where you can play with your children
We have clear safeguarding procedures in place to ensure that your children are safe and well cared for while they are with us.
